JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Emily: no not really I was just ready to get out of
there because of the children I had waiting on
me and It made me think more why did I not think
about what I done before and I wouldnt be in
this I did it to myself and learned a lesson Kelly: The other inmates were easy to get along with. I feel I made some
friends. Some, however were mentally ill and more difficult to be
with. Bill: Not at all. the other inmates were very
sympathetic to what had happened, and THEY kept
me informed on what was going on within the jail.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Emily: when it came to chow time and the bathroom I
lost my temper a lot and that made it worser
where the judge gave me more time Kelly: I basically would walk away when an argument was taking place.
There were some arguments about television shows or food. I gave
a lot of my food to other inmates to make friends. Bill: nothing
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Emily: no Kelly: I was not able to choose my inmate even if I desired. Bill: No
